Meet Our Residency Program Director

Dr. Sherr is the Assistant Dean for Professional Affairs at UMES SOP; she assumed this role in October 2017. She is also the Residency Program Director of the UMES/Apple Discount Drugs PGY-1 Community Pharmacy Residency, and Assistant Professor of Pharmacy in the Department of Pharmacy Practice and Administration. 

Dr. Sherr earned her Doctor of Pharmacy Degree and Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy Degree from the Lebanese American University in Byblos, Lebanon. She then went on to pursue a PGY-1 Pharmacy Practice Residency with emphasis on Ambulatory Care and Public Health at Samford University, McWhorter School of Pharmacy in Birmingham, AL. She developed and maintained a clinical practice site in the Ambulatory Care clinics at Chesapeake Health Care, (f.k.a.  Three Lower Counties Community Services) in Salisbury, MD and Pocomoke, MD prior to assuming her new role in the Office of Professional Affairs. 

In her current role, Dr. Sherr focuses on student professionalism, continuing professional development, community service, and interprofessional education and collaborations. Dr. Sherr teaches in pharmacotherapy modules and in the Professional Development course series. She is a member of several professional organizations including ASHP, AACP, APhA, and Eastern Shore Area Health Education Center. Her areas of interest include interprofessional education, post-graduate education, public health, chronic disease prevention and management, continuing professional development, and professionalism in pharmacy.
