4. To expose students to the global reach of USDA/land grant programs, specifically the Foreign Agriculture Service (FAS) and the 4-H Program, as a means of illustrating potential FANRHS related career pathways
5. To strengthen knowledge and skills requisite for success and productivity in global FANRHS related industries, including cross-cultural competency, critical thinking, problem solving, teamwork communication skills and professional ethics
6. To deepen students’ knowledge and appreciation of FANRHS sector-related practices in the sub-Saharan African context while also deepening knowledge of sub-Saharan African history and cultural. 7. At least eight experiential research reports by participating U.S students to be presented in seminars and at ARD conference where feasible created. 5. An international experiential learning mechanism and strategies, in a virtual setting, that can be used by other universities developed. 6. Teaching and communication capacity with a higher level of understanding of global agricultural policies, issues, and impacts enhanced. 7. At least two articles in collaboration with participating faculty and selected students for publications in peer-reviewed journals developed.
Accomplishments: This project has been implementing new or enhanced courses or curricula since Fall 2021:
Course materials for both Graduate and Undergraduate Intro to GIS courses are being prepared fat the PI’s institutions. As well as articles related to impacts of climate change on food security, sea rise impacts, disaster recovery data and urban agriculture prospects are included.

1. Updated brochure, completed pull-out poster, and expanded online promotional presence of project to agriculture majors. 2. A comprehensive curriculum mapping of study abroad destinations developed for agriculture majors, and possible implementation timeframe during the student’s matriculation at the university. 3. At least 8 pairs of mentor-mentee in the two year project cycle and a minimum of 8 pairs of peer mentor-mentee ( domestic + international students) created. 4. A least three students received internship or job offers each year, and at least three students received admission into a graduate program with career potential at FAS or APHIS.
Accomplishments: Alcorn State University president Dr. Felecia M. Nave and Ambassador Samantha Power, USAID Administrator signed a new Memorandum of Understanding between the U.S. Agency for International Development and Alcorn State University. The MOU will facilitate and enhance opportunities for transformative experiences for students, internationalization of the curricula, and faculty and staff international engagement. Also, the Office of Global Programs implemented a one-day Model USAID simulation workshop in collaboration with USAID staff. Eight undergraduate students and two graduate students completed the workshop and received a certificate of completion.

Accomplishments: Eight students from Jamaica and KSU participated in activities to learn and understand the basics of online mapping, sources of maps, and creating appropriate maps and sharing them via the Dashboard. These students will continue to work in the second phase of the project for creating additional maps and validating the ones created in the first phase of the project.
