The Herman Franklin Paraprofessional Program is comprised of an elite group of University of Maryland Eastern Shore students. The mission of the program is to enhance the residential communities through programming, volunteer service and building environments conducive to living and learning. The HFPP seeks to develop students to be educated leaders and professionals by offering inclusive leadership training emphasizing leadership philosophies, skills development, professional development, and personal growth congruent with the mission of the University of Maryland Eastern Shore and the Office of Residence Life.

Resident Assistant Application Process Fall 2022
Thank you for your interest in being a Resident Assistant (RA) for the Office of Residence Life! At this time, the Resident Assistant Application and Interview process will be conducted virtually.
To be considered, you are required to complete an online application which will include application questions regarding your leadership experiences and your view on the resident assistant position. This will also include providing an 8×11 creative expression of yourself: this can be displayed as a collage, poster, artwork, etc. Please answer all questions to the best of your ability.

Resident Assistant Job Description
Resident Assistants are full-time enrolled students who assist the Office of Residence Life in providing a safe and secure environment conducive to living and learning. The role of a Resident Assistant (RA) is to serve as a role model, community builder, and peer counselor.
Candidate Qualifications
· Be registered as a full-time University of Maryland Eastern Shore student
· Must have completed at least 12 credit hours (before applying)
· Must have a 2.5-grade point average (semester & cumulative)
· Have lived in a residence hall for at least one semester
· Candidates should not have any major housing violations or violations of the University Student Code of Conduct
· A willingness to help others
· A willingness to report for staff training approximately two weeks prior to move-in day for the Fall semester and at least a week prior to the start of the Spring semester
Remuneration
· Room Scholarship for a single bedroom in university housing
· Meal Plan Scholarship for a 19 meal plan with $200 annual food points
