Mortgage Guru Lynn Richardson’s Health, Wealth ‘n Real Estate Tour Poised to Draw Large Crowd Thursday, February 19

PRINCESS ANNE, MD – Mortgage Guru Lynn Richardson’s Health, Wealth ‘n Real Estate Tour, part of a State Farm Insurance sponsored initiative, will come to the University of Maryland Eastern Shore Thursday, February 19, at 6:30 p.m. in the Student Services Center theatre.  The national student business leaders are hosting the event.

The HBCU initiative serves to educate and inform students about the importance and advantages of smart wealth and health skills. Previous stops include Howard University, Hampton University, Delaware State University and Clark-Atlanta University.  According to Richardson, tour creator, the next generation of African American business leaders and entrepreneurs who currently attend Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) needs to be prepared to meet the challenges of the global marketplace and programs and initiatives that provide in-depth, real-world analyses of health preservation and wealth building tools that are undeniably linked to the success of aspiring professionals.  “We must address college students, now, before debt begins to mound and bad financial and health decisions restrict them from reaching their full potential,” she said.

“The ‘HBCU Health, Wealth ‘n Real Estate Tour’ provides an opportunity for college students to boost their understanding of the relationship between good health and achieving wealth,” said Pam El, State Farm marketing vice president. “Making a difference in the community is important to State Farm, and we are proud to sponsor the tour. Similar to the ’50 Million Pound Challenge,’ these seminars help educate and improve the lives of our customers and potential customers. And, State Farm’s good neighbor brand is demonstrated well when our sponsorship investments truly benefit the people in our communities.”

During the two-hour program, attendees will participate in workshops that address credit, money and health tips. In addition to receiving personal financial workbooks and a copy of Richardson’s best seller, “Living Check to Monday: The Real Deal about Money, Credit and Financial Security,” 2005, they will be introduced to the prospects of buying a house as early as two to four years after graduation.  Extra credit from certain instructors and professors, raffles and giveaways all serve as incentives for attendees (faculty, staff, students and community members).

Richardson, an author, broadcaster and motivational speaker, is a globally recognized mortgage and wealth education expert who not only wants to change the way Americans think about money, she wants to change how they treat it.  With more than a decade of leading roles in the banking and real estate sales industries, Richardson’s reputation as an authoritative, transformational financial educator resonates on a global scale and has helped catapult thousands trapped in debt build habits into wealth creation lifestyles.

As a result of partnering with entertainment mogul Russell Simmons’ Hip Hop Summit Action Network on the “Get Your House Right! Initiative” and State Farm/Ian Smith’s “50 Million Pound Challenge” on the “HBCU Health, Wealth ‘n Real Estate Tour,” Richardson’s common-sense approach to wealth education and personal money matters will exponentially expand the life-changing impact she has on the most vulnerable consumers. Most recently, she was vice president of National Strategic Partnerships for JP Morgan Chase.

Last year, Richardson was named National Homeownership Advisory Council Chair of the Hip Hop Summit Action Network, a non-profit, non-partisan national coalition that unites artists, executives and advocates against poverty and injustice. In this capacity, she will serve as a fresh voice to the $59 billion hip hop community promoting responsible personal finance management.   She was also named one of the 20 Hottest Influencers in America by Urban Influence Magazine, an official publication of the National Urban League.
