PRINCESS ANNE, MD – Dr. Bahram Bahramian, an accomplished technology management transfer specialist with 28 years of diverse experience in research, product development, construction management, modular building designs and project management in building industry and information technology, has been named program director of the Construction Management Technology (CMT) Program at the University System of Maryland’s (USM) Universities at Shady Grove. 

A unique concept in regional higher education, Shady Grove brings together nine, public degree-granting institutions in the USM in one convenient location, offering more than 60 undergraduate and graduate degree programs.

The Construction Management Technology Program, accredited by the American Council for Construction Education (ACCE), provides a part-time upper division program of study for students interested in a career in the construction industry.

Prior to his employment at Shady Grove, he was president and CEO of the Center for Technology Management Inc., in Rockville, Md., a consulting company involved in advanced modular building designs, urban development and technology transfer for the D.C. government, various local companies and the U.S. Corp of Engineers. 

As vice president of technology and business development at the Technology Management Systems Inc., in Huron and Dayton, Ohio, he directed and managed the design team to develop various mass-customized products for commercial and residential projects and total systems design, working with different U.S. government agencies and at the international level.  He held other positions in engineering and prefabricated manufacturing. 

Bahramian holds a bachelor’s and doctorate degree from the University of Birmingham in England.  He received a Master of Business Administration from the University of Dayton, Ohio, and an advanced post-doctoral diploma in building systems design from MIT in Cambridge, Mass.  He is also certified as a Microsoft systems engineer on NT systems.
