PRINCESS ANNE, MD – University of Maryland Eastern Shore President Thelma B. Thompson hosts the fifth annual President’s Interfaith Prayer Breakfast featuring keynote speaker Pastor Matthew D. Gallashaw II on Friday, February 22, in the Student Services Center Ballroom at 7:30 a.m. “The Prayer Breakfast is a welcome and timely opportunity for different segments of our country and our community to enjoy fellowship together, regardless of religion, race or creed,” said Dr. Thompson.
Gallashaw has served for 13 years as pastor of the Christ Community Bible Church in Philadelphia, Pa. and director of the Helping Hand Rescue Mission, located in the same building. The mission exists primarily to meet the needs of the homeless and others in need in the surrounding community.
Ministering to the spiritual, intellectual, physical, emotional and environmental needs of all people, Gallashaw shares biblical principles for achieving success at conferences, retreats and communities throughout the east coast.
The Annual Interfaith Prayer Breakfast serves as a fitting prelude to the Homecoming Weekend festivities; and in addition to Gallashaw will feature inspirational music provided by the UMES Choirs and saxophonist Everett Spells. Breakfast will be provided by UMES Dining Services.
