Project Overview
The Financial Records System (FRS) Project at the University of Maryland is a business process re-design effort which will result in more efficient processes for handling business transactions. The FRS system consists of five modules; Fixed Assets, Budget, Accounts Payable, Purchasing and Financial Accounting. In conjunction with web based electronic forms, the business processes within all areas will be markedly improved.
Goals
The Goals for FRS include:
- Efficient and streamlined business processes
- Capture of data once at the source
- Reduction of paper (except where required by the State/System)
- Processing of all transactions electronically
- Timely and accessible data
- A system which facilitates and ensures compliance with regulations

- Complete required information and print a hard copy
- Obtain required signatures and return to the contact person listed in the next tab
