Reference Collection:
The print Reference Collection is non-circulating and located on the first floor of the library. It covers a wide range of subjects and standard reference materials, including bibliographies, dictionaries, directories, encyclopedias, handbooks and manuals, indexes and abstracts, biographical sources, atlases, yearbooks and almanacs. It also includes Reference Maryland, a collection about the state and many of its counties, as well as resources related to the laws and history of the state.
The digital Reference Collection can be accessed from the library website using Primo OneSearch or by clicking the Reference Sources link from the Databases by Subject page.

- Library Instruction – Research instruction is an integral component of the library’s mission to support the academic curriculum of the university. Instruction is provided in the following ways:
- LIBR100 Information Literacy Online Course – Librarians teach a one-credit course that covers the collections and services of the library; the research process; how to search for books, articles and credible websites; and how to cite sources and avoid plagiarism.
- Library Instruction Sessions – At the request of faculty, librarians provide instructional sessions on library orientation, information literacy or general and subject-specific research.

- The Faculty/Library Liaison List can be referred to when finding the librarian designated to your department or academic program.
- Research and Citation Guides – The library provides tools and guides to assist students in their research.
