The University of Maryland Eastern Shore (UMES) is committed to conserving natural resources through sustainable operations, energy efficiency, and responsible facility management. Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) works with Facilities Management, other Physical Plant departments, contractors, and the campus community to promote conservation initiatives that reduce resource consumption and improve environmental performance. UMES supports energy-efficient operations and green building initiatives by encouraging efficient building systems, sustainable design and renovation practices, and the responsible use of utilities and campus resources.
