Advancing STEM Honor Education: Developing Tomorrow’s Leaders Today

This activity aims to strengthen and sustain the UMES Honors Program, particularly for students in STEM disciplines. It focuses on expanding access to honors opportunities, aligning with national standards, and providing leadership training and pre-professional experiences through workshops and lecture series. Additionally, the program offers GRE Test Prep workshops to prepare students for graduate and professional school entrance exams.

Enhancing Global Opportunities

This activity aims to promote global learning for students, faculty, staff, and the community by fostering cross-cultural understanding and global competence. By merging the Foreign Language Instructional Center and the Center for International Education into the Office of Global Opportunities, the activity integrates resources to prepare students for global engagement and sustainable development, both locally and globally.

Strengthening Microsoft Center for Student Technology Competency, Digital Literacy, and Professional Skills Certification

This activity aims to enhance students’ technological competency and digital literacy, equipping them with essential IT skills. The program focuses on building proficiency in operating personal computers, software applications such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and Access, as well as developing knowledge in internet usage and basic computer systems. The goal is to ensure students, faculty, and staff increase their IT skill sets for academic, professional, and personal success.
