PRINCESS ANNE, MD-A Trial Garden Twilight Tour will be held on Wednesday, August 20, from 5-7 p.m. at the University of Maryland Eastern Shore Agriculture Experiment Station. The event is open to home and master gardeners, landscape designers and contractors, and greenhouse and nursery managers.
“The purpose of the evening is to introduce new varieties of bedding plants to home gardeners and members of the local nursery and greenhouse industry,” says Corrie Cotton, Research Assistant Professor at UMES. “We are growing them in our environment to monitor how well they perform.” Participants can evaluate the plants during the tour and rate them on color, foliage and overall landscape performance.
Ginny Rosenkranz, extension educator, commercial horticulture at UMES, will be on hand to answer questions and provide more information on the plants featured in the trial. The program is part of a funded research project to be used for education and outreach. It is sponsored by the UMES Department of Agriculture, Food and Resource Sciences.
