SALISBURY, MD – The University of Maryland Eastern Shore awards a four year, $25,000 tuition scholarship on Thursday, August 7, for its Professional Golf Management program to the winner of the ninth annual junior golf championship, sponsored by the Salisbury Sunrise Rotary Club.

The 18 Hole Medal Play Championship, to be held at Nutters Crossing Golf Club, is open to boys and girls from 13 to 18 years of age.

“We look forward to working with the Sunrise Rotary Club to make this scholarship available on an ongoing basis to those talented and passionate young men and women who are interested in pursuing a bachelor’s degree, leading to a career in the business and industry of golf,” said PGM Director Billy Dillon.

Sunrise Rotary President Dennis Weller commented that “We’re thrilled to partner with the University of Maryland Eastern Shore to help award this first annual scholarship.  We’re grateful for their vision and generosity in providing this fantastic opportunity.”
