PRINCESS ANNE, MD – Members of the Princess Anne Chapter of the Links Inc., recently presented a check for $6,700 to the UMES Foundation in support of an endowed fund established by the organization to reward and assist students in financial need who have demonstrated academic success as undergraduates and who have engaged in university and community service and leadership. 

The organization’s donations to the fund now total some $40,000.  “We take great pride in supporting UMES and students who are extremely deserving,” said Dr. Carolyn Brooks, president, Princess Anne Chapter of the Links Inc.

Private gifts to the university are made to the UMES Foundation, which is part of the University System of Maryland Foundation, Inc., a not-for-profit corporation separate from the University System of Maryland. The Foundation is a tax-exempt organization under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. The Foundation’s purpose is to receive, hold, invest, manage, use, dispose of and administer property of all kinds, whether given absolutely or in trust, or by way of agency or otherwise. Contributions are used entirely for the purpose specified by the donor.  For more information or to make a contribution, call 410-651-7773.
