PRINCESS ANNE, MD – Lisa C. Johnson has been named acting assistant director of human resources at the University of Maryland Eastern Shore.
Johnson came to UMES with over 10 years experience as a human resources management specialist at NASA Wallops Flight Facility in Wallops Island, VA, plus four years as Equal Employment Opportunity officer at NASA Wallops. She has worked for the university since 2004.
“I’m here to serve,” said Johnson. “Phone calls and walk-ins are not interruptions. Rather, meeting the needs of UMES employees, applicants and others is what we do. I love working in this helping profession.”
Her training for the job includes a bachelor’s degree in communication arts from Salisbury University and a master’s in education in guidance and counseling from UMES,
Johnson, her husband and the couple’s two children, Tim Jr., age 16, and Timisa, age 13, are active in church. Johnson is an ordained minister, serving as assistant youth pastor at a local church in Virginia.
