Meal Plan Requirements

All students residing in a traditional residence hall or the Student Apartments are required to participate on a 19-Meal Plan or a 14-Meal Plan.

Individuals residing in the Student Residential Complex, Hawks Landing, Hawks Plaza, or Hawks Run are not required to participate on a meal plan.

All meal plans can be used at the “all-you-care-to-eat” Plateau City Market or Plateau Takeaway, both located in the Student Services Center. Enjoy an array of comfort foods, delicious pizzas, grilled sandwiches and vegetarian options in a fun, comfortable atmosphere. Meal Plan Bonus points can be used at any Thompson Hospitality location.

Meal Plan Bonus Points

Bonus Points will be added to your HawkCard account after the ADD/DROP period. You must have completed your Payment Confirmation and sign up for the meal plan prior to the ADD/DROP period. You will not be able to add funds to this account and Meal Plan Bonus points can only be used at Thompson Hospitality locations. Bonus Points cannot be transferred and will be forfeited if not used by the end of each semester, or you withdraw from a meal plan.

Adding a Meal Plan

To add a meal plan before the semester starts, please log into MyUMES, then select HAWKVILLE. After the semester starts please complete and submit the Residential Meal Plan Application and select one of the following meal plans:

19-Meal Plan (19 meals per week – $2,354.00, Plus $100 Bonus Points).

14-Meal Plan (14 meals per week – $2,235.50, Plus $75 Bonus Points).

10-meal plan (10 meals per week – $1,824.00, Plus $75 Bonus Points).

5-Meal Plan (5 meals per week – $929.50, Plus $50 Bonus Points) – Commuters Only

Changes to a Meal Plan

Meal plan changes from one meal plan to another meal plan must be completed in MyUMES, then select HAWKVILLE by 11:59pm on the Saturday before the semester starts. After the Saturday before the semester starts no meal plan changes are permitted. Individuals who wish to make a change to their meal plan must log into MyUMES, then select HAWKVILLE. Any meal plan changes may be subject to proration fees.

Withdrawal from a Meal Plan

If you have selected or have been charged for the meal plan and currently reside in the Student Residential Complex, Hawks Landing, Hawks Plaza, or Hawks Run and do not wish to participate, you may cancel your meal plan in  MyUMES, then select HAWKVILLE by 11:59pm on the Saturday before the semester starts. In order to receive a full credit for the meal plan you must cancel your meal plan in MyUMES, then select HAWKVILLE by 11:59pm on the Saturday before the semester starts. Any meal plan changes may be subject to proration fees or penalties.

Withdrawal requests are not final and you are responsible for payment until the charge is removed from your account. Please check your bill to ensure the charge has been removed prior to the withdrawal request deadline.

If you are a nonresidential student and wish to cancel the meal plan, you should immediately cancel your meal plan in MyUMES, then select HAWKVILLE by 11:59pm on the Saturday before the semester starts – to receive a full credit. After the Saturday before the semester starts if you wish to cancel the meal plan and you are eligible to do so, please submit a Meal Plan Withdrawal Form in MyUMES, then select HAWKVILLE. Credits are based on the charts below.

Campus Dining Options

*Disclosure: For purpose of billing, the University uses Sunday as the first day of the week and Saturday as the last day. Any part of a week is considered to be a full week. For example, if a student applies for a meal plan on a Friday, the student will be charged for a full week’s meal plan rate all thought the week ends on Saturday and new week begins on Sunday. All changes made by you in HawkVille self-service are your responsibility.
