Active Alumni Engagement
The UMES NAA Board of Director represents the alumni body, which is now more than 12,000 alumni world-wide. The President of the UMES NAA represents the NAA at formal University events such as convocation and commencements. The President also serves as a standing member of the University’s Board of Visitors. The UMES NAA serves as a liaison to the University about the needs and concerns of Alumni as it relates to the advancement of the University’s mission.
Alumni Advocacy
Alumni advocate for comparable and equitable support for the University so that the University is able to fulfill its mission to current and future students.

Alumni raise funds to support the UMES Foundation through direct contributions and through the support for of campus fundraising campaigns and activities. Like the UMES NAA, most of the Regional Alumni Chapters have created endowed funds to provide sustainable financial support to the University in the years to come.
Professional Support
Alumni refer potential students for admission, serve as guest lecturers and recruit students for employment upon graduation.
WINGS Mentoring Program
Alumni serve as mentors to current students. In partnership with the Office of Alumni Affairs and the Student Government Association (Senior Class), Alumni work with students to promote scholastic achievement and the “Out of the Classroom Experiences.”
Connections
Our fastest growing connecting point for Alumni is the HAWK Zone. These social networking affinity groups connect you with other HAWK Alumni with similar interest and backgrounds. In addition to the HAWK zone, we stay in communication with you through the annual “Oval Message” Alumni Magazine.
Outreach
The Office of Alumni Affairs offer creative alumni programming to strengthen alumni engagement. Social events include bull roast, family BBQs, game nights, dances and more! Our goal is to reach out to current students and parents to lend support while they go through college.

The Office of Alumni Affairs hosts regional networking receptions that connect you with other HAWK Alumni in your field in order to help advance your career.

Meaningful Involvement
You can help us make a difference and make UMES Stronger!
