Orr retired as the Somerset County director of Go-Getters in Princess Anne MD. A member of St. James AME Zion Church in Salisbury, she has been president of the St. James AME Zion Missio­naries for 10 years. She is the current chair of the St. James AME Zion Church Scholarship Fund. Orr is a mentor for the Wicomico County Board of Education. Orr and her children are the sponsors for the Coach Michael Orr Memorial Scholarship at James M. Bennett High School in Salisbury MD.
Orr is former president of the Mental Health Association of the Lower Shore. She currently serves on Wor-Wic’s “Preparing for a Stronger Tomorrow” campaign committee and serves as a director of Wor-Wic’s Foundation Board.
Orr is currently an adjunct lecturer at the University of Maryland Eastern Shore.
Orr earned bachelor’s and master’s degrees from the University of Maryland Eastern Shore. 
She enjoys cooking , baking, family time and spending time at the beach.
