1. ALL UMES students, faculty, and staff, MUST present and leave their Hawk ID card at the desk when they enter the pool facility. Only UMES students, faculty, and staff are permitted to use the pool facility.
2. Distracting or disturbing the lifeguards while they are on duty is prohibited.
3. All patrons must shower before entering the pool.
4. All patrons must wear appropriate swim wear.
5. Behaviors such as horseplay, running, pushing, dunking, hanging on lane lines, or any other activities deemed dangerous by the aquatic staff are prohibited.
6. Repetitive breath holding or prolonged underwater swimming is prohibited.
7. No food, drink, glass, or gum is allowed in the pool facility.
8. Smoking, vaping, and the use of tobacco products, drugs and alcohol is prohibited in the pool facility.
Please be aware and comply with the following whistle signals:
ONE short whistle signal = lifeguard needs the attention of a swimmer
TWO long whistle signals = clear the pool
THREE short whistle signals = follow the directions of the lifeguards
Students who violate the pool rules, will be subject to sanctions through the Office of Student Conduct and Community Standards
