The University Budget Office provides support and analysis to University leadership in fiscal and budgetary policy development to promote the accomplishment of the University’s mission.
The Budget Office will provide support and guidance to all campus departments at the University of Maryland Eastern Shore in administering, monitoring and reporting their budgets as directed by the Maryland Higher Education Commission (MHEC), Department of Budget and Management (DBM), University System of Maryland (USM), and all applicable laws and regulations so as to ensure a balanced budget at the end of each year.
We will support the University’s priorities by identifying, projecting, allocating and managing available resources for operating and capital expenditures.
Departmental Goals:
- We will assist University faculty, staff and students with the establishment, maintenance and oversight of budgets.
- We will collaborate with Human Resources and other departments to improve upon the maintenance of position control.
- We will provide assistance in budgeting and accounting for capital projects.
- We will promote a high degree of transparency regarding the institution’s allocation of financial resources.
