Dr. Ayodele Julius Alade was a former Dean of the School of Business and Technology at the University of Maryland Eastern Shore. Before taking the deanship, he was Chair of the Department of Business, Management, and Accounting at the University of Maryland Eastern Shore (UMES), as well as a tenured Professor of Production and Operations Management and Director of the Microsoft Center at UMES. He received his Ph.D. in Industrial Economics from the University of Utah. He has authored and co-authored numerous scholarly journal articles and abstracts published in national and international journals and has been nominated and received several best paper awards. In his research, he has combined theoretic economics with financial and operations management, using linear and goal-programming models. Dr. Alade has received several honors and awards. He was inducted into the Beta Gamma Sigma AACSB Honor Society in 2011. He is a member of several national and international professional organizations. He has served as editor-in-chief of an international journal, as well as a member of the editorial board and managing editor of professional/academic journals. Dr. Alade has been involved in and conducted several international assignments sponsored by USAID, among which are Supply Chain Management and Transaction Costs; Micro-enterprise Finance in Sub-Sahara Africa; Review of USAID Interventions on Capital Market; and a co-executor and Policy Analyst and Business Advisory Consultant to Emerging Businesses in South Africa’s Wine Industry
