PRINCESS ANNE, MD- (April 27, 2012)The University of Maryland Eastern Shore Gospel Choir takes the stage for its spring performance May 5 at 5 p.m. in the Ella Fitzgerald Center for the Performing Arts. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
“No Rock Shall Cry Out for Me” is the theme. “We want our music to minister and bless the souls of our community,” Dr. Della Dameron-Johnson, director of the choir, said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The 30-member choral group will perform contemporary gospel music and spirituals, Dallas Taylor, the choir president, said. The concert is the “crowning jewel,” he said, culminating a series of old-fashioned gospel revivals scheduled for May 1-3, at 7 p.m. Musical performances and guest speakers from the university and local churches fill the nightly programs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
