All of us had a wonderful time and it turned out to be quite an exceptional educational experience for all the students, said Dr. John Lamkin II, director of bands and coordinator of music education at UMES. With the number of performances and rehearsals we had, the students got a sense of what it is like to be on tour, which I am sure some of them will experience to a much greater extent as their careers in music unfold.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The students performed at Charlotte Amalie High School, the Emancipation Gardens in downtown St. Thomas, the Tortola Music Festival, St. Andrew s Episcopal Church, The Cathedral of All Saints Episcopal Church and a UMES alumni reception at the Island Beachcomber Hotel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
