{"id":3494,"date":"2008-03-17T05:54:38","date_gmt":"2008-03-17T09:54:38","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/wwwcp.umes.edu\/pr\/?p=3494"},"modified":"2008-03-17T05:54:38","modified_gmt":"2008-03-17T09:54:38","slug":"swedish-sculpture-exhibition-opens-at-mosely-gallery","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/wwwcp.umes.edu\/scm\/swedish-sculpture-exhibition-opens-at-mosely-gallery\/","title":{"rendered":"Swedish Sculpture Exhibition Opens at Mosely Gallery"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Monday, March 17, 2008<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">PRINCESS ANNE, MD- &#8220;Angels and Devils,&#8221; a sculpture exhibit featuring the work of Swedish sculptors Johan&nbsp;Thunell&nbsp;and&nbsp;B\u00f6rjeBerglund is on display now through April 4, at theMosely&nbsp;Gallery at the University of Maryland Eastern Shore.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">According to Dr. Anke Van&nbsp;Wagenberg, gallery director, art history lecturer,&nbsp;Thunell&#8217;s&nbsp;sculptures are mainly&nbsp;raku-fired ceramics.&nbsp; They are an offspring of his interest in human physiognomy of humorous &#8220;Devils,&#8221; representing the darker aspects of the human condition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Berglund&#8217;s &#8220;Angels,&#8221; winged figures in stoneware in clear resin, capture a feeling of them hovering freely in space.
