Rose Associates, Inc., has been named program director of hotel and restaurant management for UMES at their off-campus location at the Universities at Shady Grove (USG) in Rockville, MD.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Streeter has spent over 31 years in management and leadership positions in both hotel operations and human resources, beginning her management career serving in a variety of rooms-operations positions with Sheraton,&nbsp;Helmsley-Spear and Holiday Inn.&nbsp; She joined Marriott in 1979, where she ascended the operational ranks and was named general manager of the Chicago Marriott Suites O&#8217;Hare in 1988; then named vice president for human resources for Marriott&#8217;s Midwest region; and finally in 1998, senior vice president for human resources for North American Lodging.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Her last position, with Marriott International, was senior vice president for human resources shared services and technology, wherein she led a team of 120 professionals, providing centralized support for the 140,000 associates and managers who worked in sixteen different brands.&nbsp; For one year following her retirement from Marriott International, she taught at James Madison University in Harrisonburg, VA.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Streeter holds a bachelor&#8217;s degree in hotel and restaurant administration from the University of Massachusetts, and a master&#8217;s degree in organization development from Loyola University of Chicago.&nbsp; She has also earned the distinction of certified human resources professional from theHuman Resource Certification Institute.&nbsp; Currently, Streeter is a member of the University of Massachusetts HTM Advisory Council and is a past board member of the Society for Human Resource Management.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As program director for UMES, she is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the hotel and restaurant management program at Shady Grove.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>####<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>Suzanne Waters Street, director, UMES Office of Public Relations, 410-621-2355,&nbsp;<a href=\"mailto:sstreet@umes.edu\">sstreet@umes.edu<\/a>.<\/em><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Wednesday, November 22, 2006 PRINCESS ANNE, MD &#8211; Judith Streeter, president of human resource consulting and services firm J.
