{"id":3301,"date":"2008-10-21T08:15:15","date_gmt":"2008-10-21T12:15:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/wwwcp.umes.edu\/pr\/?p=3301"},"modified":"2026-07-13T21:58:27","modified_gmt":"2026-07-14T01:58:27","slug":"school-of-pharmacy-and-health-professions-e-health-access-project-kick-off","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/wwwcp.umes.edu\/scm\/school-of-pharmacy-and-health-professions-e-health-access-project-kick-off\/","title":{"rendered":"School of Pharmacy and Health Professions e-Health Access Project Kick Off"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"alignright size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"186\" height=\"128\" src=\"https:\/\/wwwcp.umes.edu\/scm\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/219\/2021\/09\/pharmacy2.gif\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-3302\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Tuesday, October 21, 2008<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">PRINCESS ANNE, MD The School of Pharmacy and Health Professions at the University of Maryland Eastern Shore (UMES) hosts a kick-off event on Tuesday, November 4, in the Student Services Center multipurpose room from 10 a.m. to noon for its recently funded e-Health Access Project.&nbsp; The school was recently established to contain five academic departments that offer three undergraduate, one master&#8217;s and two doctoral degree granting programs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Established as the School of Health Professions in 2004, the school has since evolved with the addition of a pharmacy program in December 2007.&nbsp;&nbsp; Within the school, successful students earn one of the following degrees: Bachelor of Science in exercise science, Bachelor of Science in physician assistant, Bachelor of Science in rehabilitation services, Master of Science in rehabilitation counseling, a Doctor of Physical Therapy degree and beginning fall 2010, a Doctor of Pharmacy degree.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The school was established to facilitate the training of health care professionals through an integrated approach, based on a health perspective that focuses on prevention, wellness and evidence-based practice in answer to the workforce needs of the state.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For more information about Allied Health Programs at UMES or the new pharmacy program, visit&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.umes.edu\/shp\">www.umes.edu\/shp<\/a>&nbsp;or&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.umes.edu\/pharmacy\">www.umes.edu\/pharmacy<\/a>.
