{"id":3131,"date":"2011-01-27T04:37:08","date_gmt":"2011-01-27T08:37:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/wwwcp.umes.edu\/pr\/?p=3131"},"modified":"2026-07-13T22:01:12","modified_gmt":"2026-07-14T02:01:12","slug":"hawk-bowling-streamed-live-this-weekend-on-bowl-com","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/wwwcp.umes.edu\/scm\/hawk-bowling-streamed-live-this-weekend-on-bowl-com\/","title":{"rendered":"Hawk bowling streamed live this weekend on BOWL.com"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Thursday, January 27, 2011<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>Kutztown Invitational part of&nbsp;USBC&#8217;s&nbsp;collegiate coverage.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">KUTZTOWN, Pa<strong>.-<\/strong>(Jan. 27, 2011)For the first time in NCAA women&#8217;s bowling history, a regular-season tournament will be broadcast live from start to finish on BOWL.com, the official website of the United States Bowling Congress and the No. 1 ranked University of Maryland Eastern Shore (UMES) Lady Hawks will be a part of it.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The 2011 Kutztown Invitational will feature 28 teams, including 13 of the top 20 teams in the country, and will take place Jan. 28-30 at&nbsp;Hiester&nbsp;Lanes in Reading, Pa.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Coverage of the event will begin at 11 a.m. on Jan. 28 with six, four-game Baker format matches and continue at 9:30 a.m. on Jan. 29 with six, five-player team matches. The bracket competition, which features best-of-seven Baker matches, will begin at 8:30 a.m. on Jan. 30.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8220;We look forward to a successful broadcast of this NCAA event and are constantly looking at more opportunities to promote the USBC and NCAA&#8217;s partnership in bowling,&#8221; USBC Collegiate Manager Gary Brown said. &#8220;This is just one more example of\u00a0USBC&#8217;s\u00a0dedication to promoting all aspects of college bowling, including NCAA competition.&#8221;\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"alignright size-large is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/wwwcp.umes.edu\/scm\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/219\/2021\/09\/Paula-and-Kristina-celebrate-during-the-2010-MEAC-Championships-scaled-1-1024x680.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-3132\" width=\"422\" height=\"280\" srcset=\"https:\/\/wwwcp.umes.edu\/scm\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/219\/2021\/09\/Paula-and-Kristina-celebrate-during-the-2010-MEAC-Championships-scaled-1-1024x680.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/wwwcp.umes.edu\/scm\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/219\/2021\/09\/Paula-and-Kristina-celebrate-during-the-2010-MEAC-Championships-scaled-1-300x199.jpg 300w, https:\/\/wwwcp.umes.edu\/scm\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/219\/2021\/09\/Paula-and-Kristina-celebrate-during-the-2010-MEAC-Championships-scaled-1-768x510.jpg 768w, https:\/\/wwwcp.umes.edu\/scm\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/219\/2021\/09\/Paula-and-Kristina-celebrate-during-the-2010-MEAC-Championships-scaled-1-1536x1020.jpg 1536w, https:\/\/wwwcp.umes.edu\/scm\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/219\/2021\/09\/Paula-and-Kristina-celebrate-during-the-2010-MEAC-Championships-scaled-1-2048x1360.jpg 2048w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 422px) 100vw, 422px\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">UMES was already streamed live on BOWL.com once this season when they faced off against Prairie View&nbsp;A&amp;M&nbsp;from the International Training Center back in October.&nbsp; No strangers to cameras, UMES is one of the most televised teams in the country, appearing in the broadcasts of the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Bowling Championships almost every season as well as in two NCAA Championship finals in 2007 and in 2008 when they won the crown.&nbsp; They also appear regularly in the streaming of the USBC Intercollegiate Team Championships.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8220;We have been very fortunate,&#8221; said UMES head&nbsp;coach&nbsp;Sharon Brummell.&nbsp; &#8220;We have a very high profile program and welcome the additional exposure.&nbsp; We are used to being on camera and shouldn&#8217;t be affected by them in our play.&#8221;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">USBC has provided coverage of two USBC Collegiate events already and will wrap up regular-season coverage on Feb. 19-20 at the Backhaul Direct Hoosier Classic in Indianapolis.&nbsp; Post-season events that will be shown live on BOWL.com include the NAIA Invitational from April 1-3, the USBC Intercollegiate Team Championships from April 21-23 and the USBC Intercollegiate Singles Championships on May 23-24.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Since its debut in 2009, more than a half a million bowling fans have tuned in to watch free live bowling events on BOWL.com.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8220;I think it&#8217;s huge for KU to host an event like this,&#8221; Kutztown University head bowling&nbsp;coach&nbsp;Joe Ambrose said. &#8220;We are fortunate that our part of Pennsylvania is a good location for teams to get to.
