Bennett,&nbsp;Washington, Crisfield, Snow Hill, Delmar, Holly Grove, Seaford, Laurel and Colonel Richardson high schools will join the University of Maryland Eastern Shore Wind Ensemble and the UMES Concert Choir in a performance on Sunday, April 25, at 4 p.m. in the Ella Fitzgerald Center for the Performing Arts.&nbsp; The concert also features community musicians and UMES alumni.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8220;There isn&#8217;t an audition process, so interested instrumental and choral students who may or may not have had the opportunity to be in the All-Shore or All-County bands and choirs can come and play with musicians of a high caliber,&#8221; said Dr. John Lamkin, band director, UMES.&nbsp;&nbsp; &#8220;They can come to a college and improve musically and see artists who continue to play throughout their life.&#8221;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The concert opens with the UMES Wind Ensemble performing &#8220;Procession of the Nobles,&#8221; a Cort\u00e8ge from the Opera &#8220;Mlada,&#8221;&nbsp;composed by Nicholas Rimsky-Korsakov.&nbsp;An overture on themes from &#8220;Porgy and Bess&#8221; will feature &#8220;It&nbsp;Ain&#8217;t&nbsp;Necessarily So,&#8221; &#8220;Crab Man,&#8221; &#8220;Summertime&#8221; and &#8220;Bess, You Is My Woman Now.&#8221;&nbsp; The UMES Concert Choir under the direction of Dr. Sheila McDonald Harleston will perform &#8220;Seek the Lord&#8221; and &#8220;I Want to Live&nbsp;With&nbsp;God.&#8221;&nbsp; Heartwarming pieces, such as &#8220;Homeward Bound&#8221; and &#8220;The Power of the Dream,&#8221; will be played by the UMES Honors Band and Choir. The UMES Trumpet Trio will perform &#8220;Bugler&#8217;s Holiday.&#8221;&nbsp; Kyle Mills, a senior music education major with a trumpet concentration, will conduct a piece called &#8220;Gathering Places,&#8221; which was composed by Pierre La&nbsp;Plante.
