Over 1,200 schools participated in the 2021-2022 survey with 747 earning the designation.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The 2021- 2022 Military Friendly\u00ae Schools list will be published in the May issue of G.I. Jobs magazine and can be found at&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.militaryfriendly.com\/\">www.militaryfriendly.com<\/a>.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Methodology, criteria, and weightings were determined by Viqtory with input from the Military Friendly<strong>\u00ae<\/strong>&nbsp;Advisory Council of independent leaders in the higher education and military recruitment community.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Final ratings were determined by combining the institution&#8217;s survey response set and government\/agency public data sources, within a logic based scoring assessment. It measures the institution&#8217;s ability to meet thresholds for student retention, graduation, job placement, loan repayment, persistence (degree advancement or transfer) and loan default rates for all students and, specifically, for student veterans.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cAs a top 20 doctoral research historically black university, it is imperative we serve and support students of all background,\u201d said Alphonso Garrett Jr., UMES&#8217; director of the Office of Admissions &amp; Recruitment. \u201cReceiving military friendly status will help veterans and military connected students know they are valued &#8211; and supported at UMES.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"alignleft size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/wwwcp.umes.edu\/pr\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/6\/2021\/09\/Military-friendly-logo-web.jfif\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-2577\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cMilitary Friendly&nbsp;<strong>\u00ae<\/strong>&nbsp;is committed to transparency and providing consistent data driven standards in our designation process. This creates a competitive atmosphere that encourages colleges to consistently evolve and invest in their programs,\u201d said Kayla Lopez, national director of Military Partnerships,Military Friendly<strong>\u00ae.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cSchools (that) achieve designation show true commitment and dedication in their efforts. The survey questions, methodology, criteria and weighting were developed with the assistance of an independent research firm and an advisory council of educators and employers.
