The FSMA PCR necessitates that a food business has a Preventive Controls Qualified Individual who has successfully completed training recognized by the FDA in the development and application of risk-based preventive controls, or who is qualified through job experience to develop and apply a food safety system.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A person may become a PCQI by attending a standardized certification course developed by the Food Safety Preventive Controls Alliance.&nbsp;The certification does not have an expiration date.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The University of Maryland Extension\u2019s Drs.
