The service is relevant to specialty crop growers, she said, because value-added canned goods that are naturally acidic (pH of 4.6 or less) are covered under the guidelines for <a href=\"https:\/\/health.maryland.gov\/phpa\/OEHFP\/OFPCHS\/SiteAssets\/Pages\/CottageFoods\/MDH%20Cottage%20Food%20Businesses_Revised_2-2021.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Maryland Cottage Food Business<\/a> and do not require the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/health.maryland.gov\/phpa\/OEHFP\/OFPCHS\/SiteAssets\/Pages\/plan-review\/On-Farm%20Foods%20and%20Definitions_5-2019.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">On-Farm Home Processing Business license<\/a> to sell to customers within the state.
