<\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\nPRINCESS ANNE, MD \u2013 (September 27, 2017) \u2013 The University of Maryland Eastern Shore is the place to be on Saturday, October 7. Ag Field Day begins at 9 a.m. with registration at the farm building. Informational displays, wagon rides, an apple orchard visit and an exciting opportunity for middle school, high school and college students as well as adults will all be a part of the family fun. While pre-registration is required, the event is free and open to the community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Farmers, agriculture professionals, home gardeners, agriculture students, and their families may visit a number of educational displays to experience the latest in forestry, poultry research, plant pathology, organic production, nutrition and food, cancer basics and nanotechnology. In addition, the 4-H STEM program will be on site to offer a fun, hands-on STEM activity. A wagon ride will take participants to the pollinator farm, the greenhouse ginger project, the apple orchard and the bioenergy farm. Food science researchers will explain how their food safety and meat quality research will benefit the masses during a tour of UMES\u2019 state-of-the-art Food Science & Technology Center.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Finally, participants may seize opportunities to join the Apple Team and\/or the Master Health Volunteer Program before leaving the campus for year round workshops and training.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
