PRINCESS ANNE, MD \u2013 (July 22, 2021) \u2013 A hemp variety screening trial involving more than 50 varieties is the focus of a July 30 tour on the University of Maryland Easter Shore campus. The event, set to begin at 4 p.m., is free and open to growers and potential growers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The tour will provide critical information to current as well as prospective hemp growers. Participants will observe hemp varieties in their vegetative stage of development. Insects and diseases will be identified along with nutritional disorders affecting hemp cultivation. Subject matter experts from UMES will be on hand to discuss solutions to potential problems associated with hemp cultivation. Additional tours that will showcase hemp in its flowering stage and hemp harvesting are scheduled for August 27 and September 30, respectively.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
