Assistant professor, Extension specialist and horticulturist Naveen Kumar Dixit will share his expertise on pruning apple, pear and peach trees.&nbsp; Registrations will be accepted through April 9.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The event, sponsored by&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/northeast.sare.org\/\">Northeast Sustainable Agriculture Research and Education<\/a>, UMES Extension and the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.umes.edu\/agriculture\/\">Department of Agriculture, Food and Resource Sciences<\/a>, features information on tree architecture and instruction on the type of cuts in pruning young and mature trees, Dixit said.&nbsp; It is the first in a series of several spring online workshops that will be offered through UMES.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"alignright size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"200\" height=\"158\" src=\"https:\/\/wwwcp.umes.edu\/sans\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/141\/2021\/09\/Kumar-Orchard-Pic.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1477\"\/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Dixit is committed to the rejuvenation of the once thriving six million pound-per-year (1925 USDA census) fruit industry on the Eastern Shore.&nbsp;
