{"id":2622,"date":"2024-03-11T10:42:04","date_gmt":"2024-03-11T14:42:04","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/wwwcp.umes.edu\/research2\/?page_id=2622"},"modified":"2025-05-22T10:23:47","modified_gmt":"2025-05-22T14:23:47","slug":"how-to-access-citi","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/wwwcp.umes.edu\/research\/irb\/how-to-access-citi\/","title":{"rendered":"How To Access CITI"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The IRB will not review any application until the required CITI certificates of the investigators (faculty and students) have been received.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The following guide is to help you access your CITI account or register for an account.<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/about.citiprogram.org\/en\/homepage\/\">https:\/\/about.citiprogram.org\/en\/homepage\/<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Register<\/strong> for<strong> CITI <\/strong>or<strong> Login<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Please affiliate with University of Maryland Eastern Shore even if you are not part of the UMES student, faculty, or staff body. &nbsp;By doing so you will not have to pay for your CITI training.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Under Learner Tools you can <strong>View Previously Completed Coursework<\/strong>.&nbsp; Here you can <strong>review<\/strong> a course and <strong>share your record<\/strong> of course completion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Under Learner Tools you can <strong>Add a course<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">  Q1- Human Subjects Research<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Faculty (select one)<ul><li>Select Biomedical Research Investigator if you are involved primarily in Biomedical research with human subjects; OR<\/li><\/ul>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Social &amp; Behavioral Investigator if you are involved primarily in Social and Behavioral research with human subjects.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Students, please ask your PI which of the following is most appropriate:<ul><li>Students conducting no more than minimal risk research; OR<\/li><\/ul><ul><li>Research with data or laboratory specimens-ONLY: No direct contact with human subjects; OR<\/li><\/ul>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>If your project is not EXEMPT, Select Biomedical Research Investigator if you are involved primarily in Biomedical research with human subjects or Social &amp; Behavioral Investigator if you are involved primarily in Social and Behavioral research with human subjects.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">  Q2 \u2013 RCR<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Faculty and Students \u2013 Select \u201cRCR for Human Subjects.\u201d<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">  Q3 \u2013 Biosafety<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Faculty and Students \u2013 Select \u201cNot at this time.\u201d<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">  Q4 \u2013 Laboratory Animal Welfare \u2013 You are not required to select an option for your IRB application.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Q5 \u2013 Conflicts of Interest Course \u2013 this course is required for most investigators<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Q6 \u2013 IRB Protocol Review Course &#8211;
