Charles W. Talley and Mrs. Louise B. Talley.&nbsp; &nbsp;I received a Bachelor\u2019s Degree in Psychology in 1976 and a Master\u2019s Degree in Rehabilitation Counseling in 1978 from South Carolina State College, in Orangeburg South Carolina.&nbsp; I later obtained my Doctorate in Rehabilitation from Southern Illinois University, Carbondale Illinois.&nbsp; I also received a advanced Certificates of study in Management and Development from the Harvard University School of Education.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I have served in various capacities over my career starting as a Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor for the Department of Vocational Rehabilitator of South Carolina and then as a Disability Examiner for the same entity.&nbsp; Among the accomplishments that I consider noteworthy are that I was the first African American to serve as a Director for a Regional Rehabilitation Continuing Education Program (RRCEP) and he was the first African American to Chair an academic unit at Assumption College.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">During my career, I have served as the principle investigator and or Author of more than twelve grants that have netted over five million dollars of funding. I have published on a variety of topics including research related to Private Sector Rehabilitation, Multicultural Counseling, Mentoring, Anxiety and Depression and the Recruitment and Retention of faculty.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The organizations that I am most active in recently include The American Counseling Association, (ACA), The National Council of Rehabilitation Educators, (NCRE), &nbsp;The Association of Black Psychologist (ABPSI), and The National Association of Multicultural Rehabilitation Counselors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Teaching Philosophy:&nbsp;<\/strong>I feel you have to be able to adapt your teaching to fit your subject, your students and your circumstances. One size does not fit all, nor should it.&nbsp; Good teachers are always looking for a way to inspire their students to be the best that they can be. &nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Dr. William B.
