{"id":1506,"date":"2022-04-13T13:28:13","date_gmt":"2022-04-13T17:28:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/wwwcp.umes.edu\/registrar\/?page_id=1506"},"modified":"2026-07-21T11:59:17","modified_gmt":"2026-07-21T15:59:17","slug":"application-for-degree","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/wwwcp.umes.edu\/registrar\/application-for-degree\/","title":{"rendered":"Application for Degree"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Students planning to graduate in the spring (May) and fall (December) must complete their academic program requirements by the end of that semester.&nbsp; Students who expect to complete the degree requirements at the end of a semester should complete an&nbsp;application for degree prior to the semester deadline.&nbsp; Deadlines are published on the <a href=\"\/registrar\/umes-academic-calendar\/\">Academic Calendar<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">All students applying for graduation will be charged a non-refundable diploma fee ($75) after the receipt of the application for degree.\u00a0 This fee and all financial obligations to the university must be satisfied for the diploma to be issued.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Participation in the commencement exercises is dependent upon the semester the application for degree is submitted.&nbsp; Degree completion conferrals are within six to eight weeks following the commencement ceremony.
