Physical Therapy is a health profession dedicated to the promotion of health, prevention of disability, and restoration and maintenance of function. Physical therapy focuses primarily on individuals whose potential or actual impairment is related to the neuromuscular, musculoskeletal, sensory-motor, pulmonary and cardiovascular systems. The physical therapist examines the function of these systems, selects and applies appropriate therapeutic measures to enable the patient to attain their maximum potential and to assume their due place in society while learning to live within the limits of the disability. Physical therapy services are provided in a variety of settings, including hospitals, extended care facilities, out-patient clinics, schools and homes<\/p>\n\n\n
