The Department of Physical Therapy offers an annual Fresh Cadaver Dissection Workshop for continuing education for practicing physical therapist in June. The 2nd year DPT students are provided with a hands-on laboratory session with the fresh cadaver specimens following the completion of the continuing education workshop.
The students gain further appreciation for the human body through this unique hands-on experience with a fresh specimen in comparison to the dissection experience with an embalmed cadaver during their gross course in the 1st year. The students are particularly focused on studying the joint capsule and ligaments and the effect of motion on those structures.
