PRINCESS ANNE, MD – The University of Maryland Eastern Shore Tobacco Control Resource Center is soliciting mini-grant proposals from faith-based and community organizations, in Somerset, Wicomico and Worcester counties, interested in preventing and\/or reducing tobacco use in African American communities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Mini-grant awards may not exceed $2,000 for organizations focused on prevention or cessation of tobacco products (cigarettes, cigars, and\/or chewing tobacco) and outreach to increase awareness. Grant monies must be used to create new programs and may not be used to replace or supplement existing programs. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The deadline for proposal submission is 4 p.m. on Wednesday, November 29. Proposals are to be submitted either by mail or hand-delivered to Jonte’ Jones, coordinator, Tobacco Control Resource Center, University of Maryland Eastern Shore, 1 Backbone Road, Princess Anne, MD 21853. The Tobacco Control Resource Center reserves the right to reject any and\/or all proposals, and no late applications will be accepted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
