PRINCESS ANNE, MD – Pasture establishment, renovation and management is the focus of the University of Maryland Extension workshop scheduled for Saturday, April 10, in the Food Science & Technology Building on the campus of the University of Maryland Eastern Shore. A $25 fee, which includes lunch, is required for registration.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The first of a series of three; the pasture establishment workshop offers participants pertinent information about establishing, renovating and managing pastures for all grazing animals. Topics of discussion will include: matching seed to soils, pasture establishment and management, animal stocking rates and fencing options. In addition, information about cost share programs and expert assistance resources will be presented by Natural Resources and Conservation (NRCS) personnel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The second workshop in the series, “Parasite Management in Sheep and Goats,” is scheduled for Wednesday, May 5. The “Hands-on Goat A1 Workshop” is scheduled to begin on Friday, September 10, and ends on Saturday, September 11. It is the final workshop of the series.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
