They were encouraged to submit letters of recommendation from those familiar with their accomplishments professionally, in the community, and through mentoring.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cThese inspiring leaders have made significant contributions to Maryland and beyond,\u201d said <strong>Suzanne Fischer-Huettner<\/strong>, managing director of BridgeTower Media\/The Daily Record. \u201cThey are high-achieving role models who mentor and encourage future generations to pursue their own paths and ambitions.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">With her selection, Jenkins and the other honorees will be featured in a special magazine inserted into the May 6 issue of The Daily Record.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Jenkins is the eleventh woman affiliated with UMES, including <a href=\"https:\/\/wwwcp.umes.edu\/pr\/anderson-named-one-of-marylands-top-100-women\/\" data-type=\"post\" data-id=\"13214\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">President <strong>Heidi M. Anderson<\/strong> in 2022<\/a>, to be named to the list. Other past honorees include former presidents <strong>Thelma B. Thompson<\/strong> (2004, 2011) and <strong>Juliette B. Bell<\/strong> (2014).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This is also the second honor for Jenkins as of late. She is also one of two UMES staff members <a href=\"https:\/\/wwwcp.umes.edu\/pr\/jenkins-mitra-chosen-for-leadership-maryland-executive-program\/\" data-type=\"post\" data-id=\"15437\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">selected to participate in Leadership Maryland\u2019s 2025 Executive Program<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Added Jenkins: \u201cAs we commemorate the 30th anniversary of the Top 100 Women awards, I am inspired to continue fostering an environment where every student has the support and resources needed to succeed.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>UMES Vice President of Enrollment Management and Student Experience Latoya Jenkins was named one of Maryland\u2019s Top 100 Women for 2025 by the Baltimore Daily Record.
