Who should apply to the program?
The program is open to a broad range of professionals to include, but not limited to, health department personnel, legislative staff with responsibility for rural health disparities, and health care professionals. Graduate students, fellows, and faculty with an interest in health disparities and social inequities are also encouraged to apply.

When are classes offered?
Classes are offered during the fall, spring, and summer semesters.
When are the due dates for admission to the program?

Do I have to take the GRE?
The GRE is not required to enroll in the certificate program.
What are the tuition and fees for the certificate program?

Can I receive financial assistance to take courses in the program?
Students enrolled in a minimum of six credit hours are eligible to receive financial aid. Click here for additional information.
How do the online courses work?
The courses in the certificate program are fully online. Students are expected to engage with each other and the instructor via Blackboard. All of the learning materials, courses assignments, quizzes, and final exam will be posted on Blackboard. Students should participate as their schedules permit, but are expected to meet the deadlines for all assignments. There are no required campus visits.
How long does it take to complete the certificate program?
The certificate can be earned in one year depending upon how many courses are taken per semester. Each course is only eight weeks. Courses are offered in the fall, spring and summer.
When will I earn my certificate?
Certificates are awarded upon completion of the four courses. Students can earn one grade of C, but must have an overall grade point average of 3.0 (B) to earn the certificate.
