She is a junior pursuing a bachelor\u2019s degree in natural resources with a concentration in environmental science at Delaware State University.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Her prior research areas include insect behavior, water quality, and monitoring environmental pollutants. In 2025, she began working in Dr. Gulnihal Ozbay\u2019s lab, performing water quality monitoring in Silver Lake, a dammed section of the St. Jones River and an important recreational fishing destination for the residents of Dover, Delaware.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Estuaries along the St. Jones are crucial for blue crab (<em>Callinectes sapidus<\/em>) and American eel (<em>Anguilla rostrata<\/em>) migration, with some juveniles observed in Silver Lake, but the water has become polluted over the last few decades.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">She plans to graduate in spring 2027.
