Her research focuses on the impacts of restored oyster reefs on the estuarine ecosystem in the Hampton River, such as recruitment rate and sediment accretion. The buildup of sediment trapped behind oyster reefs can help to rebuild shorelines and enhance coastal resilience, aligning with NOAA\u2019s mission of conserving and managing marine ecosystems.
