The first research he was involved with came from the <a href=\"https:\/\/wwwcp.umes.edu\/stars\/umes-stem-stars-scholars-cohort-i\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">STEM STARS program<\/a>, where he worked with Professor Stephen Tomasetti. His research focused on Redfish behavior in submerged aquatic vegetation (SAV) and the application of aquatic ROVs in research. He began studying for his Environmental Science Degree in the Department of Natural Sciences at the University of Maryland Eastern Shore in August 2023. Eli became an undergraduate fellow in the fall of 2024 under the mentorship of Dr. Stephen Tomasetti. He is currently involved in research pertaining to tracking the movement of redfish in the Chesapeake Bay.
