Her masters work included single and multi-species ecosystem-based modelling and her master’s thesis was entitled, An Ecosystem – Based Modeling Approach Towards the Development of a Predator-Prey Growth Model for Bluefish, Striped Bass, and Menhaden.

Cristin has had the opportunity to work with former Chief Scientist Michael Fogarty, PhD at NOAA Northeast Fisheries Science Center on two occasions and is currently undergoing a computational project with NOAA Southeast Fisheries Science Center’s Research Fishery Biologist expert Joe Serafy, PhD. In addition, she recently assumed the position of Computational Advisor for the new NOAA IN FISH! Program and looks forward to continuing this assignment over the next few years. Cristin has also begun collaborating with Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission and their Horseshoe Crab assessment which she plans to incorporate into her dissertation.

Cristin hopes to continue her collaborations and join the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration as a permanent resident after the completion of her doctoral degree.

NOAA Mentor: Dr. Joseph Serafy

Academic Advisor: Dr. Elizabeth Babcock

Publications/Presentations

“An Ecosystem-Based Modeling Approach Towards the Development of a Predator-Prey Growth Model” presented at the NOAA LMRCSC Graduate Seminar May 3, 2021

Mayes, C., Horodysky, A., Bonin, C., Fogarty, M., Gibson, D., Wiley, S. & Lewallen, E.A.
