Shakira Goffe graduated from the University of Maryland Eastern Shore with a B.S. in Environmental Science with a concentration in Marine Science, and later with a master’s degree in Marine, Estuarine & Environmental Science. Under the advisement of Dr. Paulinus Chigbu, her research focused on understanding environmental factors influencing the recruitment and distribution of fishes in the nearshore areas of Maryland Coastal Bays. After earning her master’s degree, Shakira took a position with Maryland Environmental Services as an Environmental Specialist.
