Amani Tolin

NOAA-EPP LMRCSC Undergraduate Graduate
B.S., Marine & Environmental Science
Hampton University

Amani Tolin graduated with his B.S. degree in marine and environmental in May 2021 from Hampton University. His research assessed the best potential sites for restoring an oyster reef in the Hampton River by analyzing the roles of abiotic factors like salinity, temperature, biotic factors like predation and competition. This was beneficial for providing information to help to preserve the river ecosystem that has been damaged by human activity and pollution and to restore the oyster population that human fisheries have over harvested.

Amani plans to earn his graduate degree from the University of Michigan.
