Students will also have opportunities to participate in<br>entry-level research tasks under faculty guidance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong><mark>Duties and Responsibilities:<\/mark><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Support VR Learning Platform Development<br>o Participate in the design and development of the VR learning framework.<br>o Participate in the design and development of VR learning modules.<br>o Assist in the development of additional support tools for the platform<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Peer Support and VR Equipment Assistance<br>o Help fellow students learn to operate and interact with VR equipment.<br>o Ensure proper handling, setup, and storage of VR devices and accessories.<br>o Troubleshoot basic technical issues and report equipment concerns.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Laboratory Preparation and Maintenance<br>o Assist with routine setup and breakdown of laboratory sessions.<br>o Maintain cleanliness and organization of lab spaces.<br>o Monitor inventory of supplies and equipment.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Instructional and Research Support<br>o Provide general assistance to faculty and graduate students during instructional and lab<br>sessions.<br>o Support data gathering activities, including surveys, observations, and basic data entry.<br>o Participate in entry-level research tasks under faculty supervision.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Project Engagement<br>o Attend team meetings and training sessions related to the project.<br>o Contribute to outreach and demonstration events showcasing VR learning tools.<br>o Maintain accurate records of participation and assigned tasks<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong><mark>Core Requirements:<\/mark><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Strong programming skills (Python, C\/C++, or any high-level language)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Ability to learn new tools quickly and adapt to project needs<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Good problem-solving skills and logical thinking<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Teamwork and communication skill<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong><mark>Preferred\/Nice to Have:<\/mark><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Familiarity with Unity, C#, or other game engines<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Experience with 3D applications or graphics (e.g., Blender, Maya, Unreal)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Exposure to VR\/AR development (Oculus, SDK, OpenXR, etc.)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Understanding of computer graphics concepts (rendering, shaders, 3D math)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Interest in educational technologies, games, or human-computer interaction <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong><mark>Hours: 1<\/mark><\/strong>0-20 hours week<br><strong><mark>Pay: <\/mark><\/strong>$17.00\/hour<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong><mark>To Apply (Applications will be accepted until the position is filled): <\/mark>You<\/strong> must complete and submit a Student<br>Employment Application to the Department of Human Resources by following the steps below:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Visit www.umes.edu\/hr<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Select Talent Acquisition<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Select Students<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Select Student Employment Website<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Select Student Workship Application<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Email the application to mvames@umes.edu<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Department: Computer Science &amp;
