{"id":1586,"date":"2021-07-15T12:37:06","date_gmt":"2021-07-15T16:37:06","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/wwwcp.umes.edu\/financialaid\/?page_id=1586"},"modified":"2021-07-20T21:27:51","modified_gmt":"2021-07-21T01:27:51","slug":"rights-and-responsibilities","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/wwwcp.umes.edu\/financialaid\/rights-and-responsibilities\/","title":{"rendered":"Rights and Responsibilities"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Rights<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>You have the following rights:<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>You have the right to be notified when money is credited to your account.<\/li><li>You have the right to privacy.<\/li><li>You have the right to know what financial aid programs are available at UMES.<\/li><li>You have the right to a complete explanation of the award process.<\/li><li>You have the right to know the Financial Aid Office&#8217;s Satisfactory Academic Progress Policy.<\/li><li>You have the right to know the UMES Refund Policy.<\/li><li>You have the right to cancel a student loan within 10 days from the time the funds were posted to your account.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Responsibilities<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>You are responsible for the following:<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Reading and understanding all forms and agreements that you sign.<\/li><li>Following all directions carefully.<\/li><li>Submitting honest and accurate information regarding your financial circumstances.<\/li><li>Submitting required documentation in a timely fashion.<\/li><li>Signing a promissory and a statement of rights and responsibilities.<\/li><li>Informing the Financial Aid Office of additional sources of financial aid received.<\/li><li>Resubmitting your FAFSA or renewal application for aid each year.<\/li><li>A First Time UMES Student Loan borrower must attend an entrance counseling session.<\/li><li>A graduating or exiting student loan borrower must attend an exit counseling session.<\/li><\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Rights You have the following rights: You have the right to be notified when money is credited to your account.
